I have created this blog to explore my writing in a number of different ways.  One is participating in Teachers Write, an online summer institute, that allows teachers an opportunity to explore their own writing so that they can better teach the art of writing to their students. Another is participating in the occasional Slice of Life writing, which is also an online writing experience.  The last way, and one that will probably infuse most of my pieces, is that I want to write to make sense of who I am, where I came from, and how it all comes together in my life.

Although much of my writing may feel autobiographical, it may not be.  Frequently, when I write, I find that I begin in a place of historical truth, but I end in places that are shaped by creative license.  As my Grampa ‘Kay was fond of saying, I never let the truth get in the way of a good story.  I am allowing myself the luxury of MY truth here, no matter how factually flawed.  For those of you who read this and think that I am writing about you, I may be, in some sense, but I also may not be at all.  Please do not take offense.  It is not my intent to offend.  It is my intent to document and share my truth, warts and all.  Please know that each piece is written from a place of love.
